The Value(s) of Private Law Lecture Series with Robert Wai

On December 9th, Robert Wai (Osgoode Hall Law School) will give a lecture as part of our Value(s) of Private Law lecture series titled, Liberal Values and Transnational Private Law

About the author

Robert Wai is an Associate Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, where he has been teaching since 1998. His academic focus includes international economic law, particularly International Trade Regulation, International Business Transactions, and Contracts. Wai's research examines the global economy's regulation through multiple regimes of transnational law, blending public and private, domestic and international, and state and non-state norms.

He holds a BCom from McGill University, an MPhil in International Relations from Oxford University (as a Rhodes Scholar), and completed his doctorate in law (SJD) at Harvard. His career also includes clerkship at the Supreme Court of Canada, legal practice in Vancouver and New York, and fellowships at institutions like the European University Institute and the London School of Economics. Wai has been involved in governance roles at Osgoode and is active in international legal research, including serving on the Academic Council of Harvard’s Institute for Global Law and Policy.
