“Ecological Jurisprudence: The Shape of Legality at its Own Last Frontier (a Private International Law Approach)”

The Maastricht Private Law Lecture, hosted by the Maastricht Department of Private Law, is an annual event at which a most distinguished scholar is invited to give a lecture on a topic related to the wide field of private law. The lecture will be after an interactive seminar with PhD-researchers.

The 2023 Maastricht Private Law Lecture will be given by Prof. Dr. Horatia Muir Watt who is Professor at the law School, Sciences-po Paris, where she currently co-directs the speciality ‘Global Governance Studies’ within the Master of Economic Law. She teaches and publishes in the field of private international law and comparative law, where she develops critical and interdisciplinary approaches. She was elected in 2013 to the Institute of International Law and in 2018 to the Institut Universitaire de France.
