The European Medicines Agency plays a central role in the regulation of Europe’s medicines supply. The Coronavirus pandemic has led the EU to expand and strengthen the EMA’s powers in pharmaceutical policy. This is happening against the backdrop of globalization, where the EMA is both influenced by and impacting on pharmaceutical policy far beyond its borders. This seminar unpacks and discusses these issues from the perspective of law and governance.
